AlastEdge
About

Twenty years of finding out what does not work.

AlastEdge exists because almost everything else was tried first.

I have been trading since 2006. In that time I have worked through discretionary trading, indicators, price action, most of the well-known systems and a long list of my own. Almost none of it held up. What survived was not a strategy but a standard: an approach only counts if it is still profitable on data it has never seen.

That standard is difficult to meet and it eliminates almost everything. It is also the reason this site publishes losing weeks alongside winning ones, states its assumptions in full, and refuses to show a compounded equity curve.

Why the system is automated

A rule you can override is not a rule. Full automation removes the part of the process most likely to fail, which is the person watching the screen. It also makes the results testable: a discretionary approach cannot be run over two and a half years of history in a way anyone could check.

Why you cannot see inside it

How the system selects its settings is not published and will not be. It is the only part that cannot be rebuilt if it were given away. What is published is every result it produces, which is the part that should matter to you.

Where this is up to

One instrument has a complete published record. Five more are being tested. The live account is new and its record is short, which is stated plainly on every page rather than buried. This is a business being built in the open, and you are early.
